these are my confessions

okay - so for the longest time, i've been really JEALOUS of these awesome blogger moms online that do research & coupon and then there's people like the pioneer woman and nicole who just blow my mind. (note: i don't know them, but i like to pretend i do b/c i think they are the best... :))

my confession - i often find myself thinking, how hard could it be to blog? well, clearly as you can see by my inconsistent posts, it's difficult. and i do a lot, so this is not coming from someone who doesn't do anything. the MOST difficult thing, i think, is to blog about food - and i just LOVE ree drummond. she's fantastic as far as i'm concerned and here's why.

i have been wanting to log all the baby food i've been making for K berry. by the time i get it all done, i remember and then i don't want to take pictures of it. so today, i made a conscious effort to do so, and from start to finish, this including the written portion, the picture upload, the picture comments and just trying to be witty and fun, took FOREVER... at least 7-8 hours. maybe it's b/c it's my first time, or maybe it's b/c i don't know the secrets of, but this is all my round about way of saying - HATS OFF TO YOU.

just so we're clear, here's the book i'm using for baby food making :

you can find it at amazon by clicking HERE - it's a fantastic book, super easy and for someone that can be easily crippled by anxiety, a fool proof way to make sure i'm making the best food for my baby.

today's recipe: sweet potato puree. for the record, K. berry has breezed through the following veggies: butternut squash, zucchini, carrots, and peas. fruits: apples - raw & cooked, bananas, avocado & cooked peaches.  my general rule of thumb w/ food is: start w/veggies and then do fruits - all babies love fruit. L. berry didn't get fruit until he was 8-9 months!

the tools you need, minus the fork. the second shot will show you that you prick the potatoes, duh.

put in in the oven for this long & then you wait.

the black spots are the caramelized portions of the sweet potato. the inside - orange awesomeness.
