i will not be posting ANY pictures on today's post but i wanted to blog about yesterday's stamping event & what i've been learning about stamping/crafting in general. i'm not going to post the cards i made b/c i'm going to use them as part of the giving project. this will definitely help me catch up.
The Stamps of Life had an event at their Irvine location where they did 3 make and takes. for those of you NON stampers/crafters... a make & take is EXACTLY what it sounds like - you make it and take it with you when you are done!
Things I am taking away...
1. Stampers/crafters are some of the most friendliest & CRAZIEST people i've met - i feel right at home!
2. putting together a card is not difficult, it's COMING UP WITH THE IDEA that takes forever. i did 3 cards today all w/in 30 minutes. the reason i did it so fast? they cut out EVERYTHING for me and had it all ready to go - all i had to do was glue it.
3. i have more stamping skills than i thought - i just need to work on the creative. it's possible i may never be a creative genius due to my perfectionism, BUUUT i can glue with the best of them!
4. sometimes doing the work and getting over your "what if it doesn't turn out good" is a necessary evil. i'm glad that i am keeping up with it. i will post more pictures tomorrow!
